Membership

Most facilities offered by the SCI, including the privileges of the SCI Maryland Yahoo! Group, and the SCI Forums, are free and open to all eligible Indian grad students at the Univeristy of Maryland, and do not require paid membership.

However, for a nominal one-time membership fee of $10, you can get:

  • Lifetime Membership
  • Free entry to the SCI monthly happy hour.
  • Discount at Subzi Mandi (Indian store in the Langley Park area).
  • Discounts on all SCI events.
  • Automatic enrollment in the SCI mailing list.
  • The satisfaction of supporting your own student organization.

Stay tuned for further value additions and discounts at area stores, exclusively for SCI Members.

Membership Terms

  • Merbership is open only to Indian graduate students at the University of Maryland.
  • Membership and the membership card are non-transferable.
  • Discounts range from 20-100% of the event ticket price.
  • Members who have paid the $10 fee prior to September 2003 will automatically be enrolled and sent complimentary cards.

Note: Anyone who has ever paid a $10 membership fee to the SCI is considered a member. If you paid the membership fee but did not recieve a membership card, you may claim your card by sending us your mailing address, and a note about when and to whom you paid the fees.

If paying by check, write the check in favor of "The Student Council of India" and mail it to us at the address below. Don't forget to include your personal details including Name, E-mail, and Office Address so that we can send you the card.
