Version 4.0

  • Upgraded the phpbb forums to the latest version. Applied mods to remove spambots and cleaned the piper database.
  • Modified graphics and logos all over the site.
  • CSS template could not be used with different screen resolutions. Implemented table based dreamweaver template to resolve the problem.
  • Initiative to attar act advertisers. Added ad templates.
  • Added FTP access to the committee to share files.
  • Cleaned up the files to reduce the monthly overcharge on space usage.
  • Removed Google AdSense.
  • Modified Google search.

  • In response to the Universities @UMD initiative that would invalidate the sci WAM account, we also acquired the Studentorgs domain, but that was not adequate for our purposes.
  • Mailman-powered mailing list added to manage the 500+ recipients of SCI announcements.
